If you’ve been wanting to try a vinyasa-style practice, but you’re not sure where to start. Or, if you’ve tried a vinyasa or flow practice and felt like you were in way over your head (you’re not alone!), this workshop is for you!
~ What is Flow or Vinyasa? ~
Flow and Vinyasa style yoga asana practice is centred around creating a steady internal rhythm by guiding you to safely and gracefully move with your breath. A typical flow class will offer regular cueing of the breath throughout the entire practice, giving you a simple, nourishing focal point. As you gently flow through a sequence of poses, anchored in your breath and the sensations in your body, you’ll find yourself dropping into a steady yet relaxed state – giving you the feeling of ‘being in flow’.
However, if you’re new to the practice, getting to the point where your flow fosters ease and relaxation can paradoxically take a lot of effort! And probably a little more technique work than us teachers have time to offer in a regular class. That’s why we’re dedicating an entire afternoon to helping you understand the foundations of flow, including strength and flexibility work, breathing techniques, how to slowly and safely progress your practice, as well as how to modify some of the classical techniques and transitions.
By the end of the workshop, we’re hopeful you’ll have enough knowledge and experience to confidently embrace a flow-style practice and joyfully attend these kinds of classes.

~ Sun Salutations (a comprehensive breakdown)
~ Rhythmic Breathing
~ Strength & Flexibility Basics (with a take home asana program to support your development)
~ Beginners Vinyasa Flow (with a take-home class plan)
~ A complete flow class experience, ending in a long and luxurious yoga Nidra and kirtan mediation
