Classes

Namaste. We invite you to our classes located in the heart of Southport, close to public transport. You’ll find it easy to relax and unwind in our tranquil and refreshing hatha yoga asana and meditation programs. Our community classes are an opportunity for everybody to experience the deeply rejuvenating and uplifting benefits of hatha yoga asanas and meditation. Please bring a yoga mat or a large towel.

Southport Hatha Yoga

Hatha Yoga Asana

Hatha yoga asana classes increase flexibility, strengthen and tone muscles, balance hormones, cleanse and flush all the internal systems of the body, calm the mind and reduce stress. Classes include meditation, relaxation and kirtan.

Mondays 6.30pm – 7.30pm

This class is held upstairs and down the corridor (Room F3).

Cost
$10 - Bookings essential (via timetable below). Please bring a yoga mat or large towel.

 

Southport Easy Yoga

Easy Yoga Asana

This class features gentle stretching, relaxation, meditation and kirtan, helping to relieve tension in the body and the mind. You will leave feeling alive and with a sense of peace and inner calm.

Thursdays 9.15am – 10.15am

Where
This class is held in the main hall on the ground floor.

Cost:
Free Community Class ($5 during school holidays) – Book via timetable below. Please bring a yoga mat or large towel.

Note: Online bookings will take priority, but if you don't want to book online, you are welcome to walk in and try to get a spot on the day.

No classes on public holidays.

Deep Peace Meditation™

Experience the deeply relaxing and restorative effect of Yoga Relaxation and Mantra Meditation. These ancient yoga practices can help you overcome stress and anxiety, and help to relieve tension and calm the mind. This class is bliss. It feels wonderful and is the perfect way to experience rest and recuperation. This class will transport you to a place of pure relaxation of mind, body and heart.

Mantra Room

Clap, sway and dance as we weave together melody, music and mantra. Immerse yourself in this simultaneously meditative, exhilarating and fun activity known as kirtan, the heart and soul of yoga.

Free/Low Cost Gold Coast Community Classes

In conjunction with the Gold Coast City Council we offer a variety of free/low cost hatha yoga and meditation classes, as well as lifestyle workshops across the Gold Coast.

In conjunction with the Gold Coast City Council’s Active and Healthy campaign, we are happy to present many new yoga asana, relaxation and meditation classes on the Gold Coast. This is your chance to add yoga into your life. All these community classes are free or low cost, so take this opportunity to relax the body and calm the mind.

Yoga Lifestyle Workshops

We are happy to present many yoga lifestyle lectures at libraries on the Gold Coast. You will learn about the yoga approach to specific topics such as: meditation, dealing with insomnia, complete well-being for teenagers, breathing, relaxation and meditation for seniors, dealing with stress/anxiety, dealing with anger, dealing with pain.

Southport Community Centre, 6 Lawson Street, Southport. Room F3 – First Floor. Behind the Southport RSL.

To find us in Room F3 head up the stairs or lift to the first floor and down the corridor. We are the first room on the right with the dimmed lights and soothing music. The community centre has disability access including a lift between floors.

Thursday morning Stretch & Relax™/Easy Yoga is held in the main hall on the ground floor.

A designated community centre car park can be accessed from Garden St. There is also free 2hr parking at Australia Fair (Young St) and Southport Central (Lawson St). The community centre is a 1 minute walk from the bus stop
