WHAT IS KIRTAN?
Kirtan is the heart and soul of yoga. Often described as “meditation of the heart”, kirtan is the hearing and singing or chanting of Mantras or transcendental sounds. Weaving together melody, music and mantra, kirtan is an interactive experience which is simultaneously meditative and joyful.
This kirtan we are sharing has been passed down through an authentic yoga lineage originating from the Supreme Lord. This sublime practice is the recommended process for self-realisation in this modern age.
“Man” means mind and “Tra” means to draw away or to free. By meditating on these sacred sounds we free the mind and heart of the stress and worries of life and begin to taste the happiness that we are always searching for.
Kirtan is yoga’s most essential and valuable treasure because it nourishes a person’s deepest needs; inner peace, inner happiness, freedom from fear and heartfelt connection with the Supreme Soul and others in spiritual love.
