Meet Your Teacher

Namaste, I’m Carla. Approximately 10 years ago I was working in the corporate world, was so competitive and stressful that I started looking for tools to cope with all the stress and anxiety. That’s when I found Meditation and Yoga. The techniques helped me, but I wasn’t very regular and after suffering a burnout in 2019, I quit my job in Chile and jumped on a flight to Brisbane, Australia. I was lucky enough to find accommodation near ASMY West End and there I started attending meditation classes and participating in the weekly kirtan program. One of the things that struck me the most about ASMY was the warm welcome, friendliness, and enthusiasm of all the volunteers and their passion for helping others. This was what got me hooked and I kept participating in their programs on a regular basis. After a while, I began to take a more active role by participating as a volunteer, which fills me with joy and deep gratitude.

Finally, I decided to study Yoga. My initial goal was to learn Yoga to use it as a self-care tool, however, life has given me opportunities to teach and I have enjoyed it so much that now I feel like the right thing to do. I enjoy sharing my experience and the benefits I have achieved with the constant practice of Meditation and Yoga. I’ve managed to reduce my anxiety and stress levels, thus improving my mood, I can sleep better and feel more focused, motivated, and happy.
