Our Yoga Asana Classes

Yoga asana (exercise) is one of the most effective and ancient exercise and relaxation practice in the world. It is a fantastic way to gain more flexibility and strength, to relieve stress and anxiety, to feel more peaceful, and to help develop more understanding of your real self.

A regular yoga practice creates more balance and harmony in our lives as it increases our physical, mental and spiritual well-being.

Whether you’ve never set foot in a yoga studio before or have been practicing for some time, you will find our authentic yoga classes welcoming, friendly, and both uplifting and calming.

The yoga exercises can easily be adapted to give you a deeper stretch or to be more gentle as required, so that each person can benefit no matter what their flexibility is.

The Style We Teach: Our classes are a great blend of Hatha Yoga and a flow style of yoga, so that you leave feeling like you had a great whole body stretch that was both focused and calming.

Each person is encouraged to practice according to their own abilities in order to achieve more strength, flexibility, relaxation, and peace of mind and heart. Yoga practice is not about comparing yourself to others as each person's body is unique in every way.

Everyone is welcome. It is preferable that you book for your classes online (see below) or just come to a class time that suits you and sign in with the teacher in person. Please arrive 10 minutes early so you have time to get comfortable.

Booking: You don't need to book online; You can just turn up 10-15 minute before class starts to book and pay in person - with cash or card. However, where possible, please sign up to Kriya (our booking system) to help facilitate a contactless environment and to enable you to pre-book a class. Please bring your own yoga mat but If you don't have a mat, we have great quality and economical yoga mats with lovely designs for sale at the studio.

Meet our Teachers

With nearly 40 years’ experience in meditation and yoga I am the senior teacher at ASMY in Adelaide. My yoga and meditation journey began after searching for a more meaningful life. I found purpose, happiness and greater wellbeing in meditation, spiritual cultivation and yoga asanas, and my life’s passion is to share my love of these practices with everyone.

New to Yoga Asana Classes?

  1. Beginners are welcome.
  2. Yoga asanas are done barefoot.
  3. Shoe shelves are provided by both entrances to store your shoes and bags. Leaving shoes at the door will keep the meditation and yoga practice areas more hygienic and enjoyable for all.
  4. Arrive 10 minutes early to allow you time to sign in and get ready for the class.
  5. Please turn off all devices.
  6. Wear comfortable modest clothing that allows you to move freely.
  7. Bring your own yoga mat.
  8. Mats available for purchase.
  9. No bookings required but bookings are encouraged.
  10. Enjoy a great all over body stretch and feel relaxed and wonderful afterwards!
