Long time Bhakti yoga practitioner and harmonium artist, Madya Lila dasi is known for her angelic voice and has helped the band gain recognition for skilfully combining the ancient mantras of yoga with the rhythms and melodies of the modern world. Raised in a family of yogis, yoga has been a part of Madya Lila's life from birth. She enjoys sharing her lifelong love of kirtan, meditation, asanas and the deeper spiritual practices the yoga tradition has to offer.
We also have various local sacred music bands that come and lead kirtan at The Mantra Room. They are all volunteers who are motivated out of a love of Kirtan.
Six friends bonded by a love of sacred music, transcendental sound, mantra meditation, kirtan and yoga wisdom became... Ashraya. Our goal is to share the Divine Names with every pair of ears on the planet.
Ashraya means transcendental shelter, refuge that is beyond the ordinary, beyond the temporary, beyond the mundane. It is in transcendental sound that we find true shelter from the storms of life because it is through mantra, the Divine Names, that we connect with the Supreme Person, the Lord of our hearts, our True Friend.
Travel on the waves of sacred sound and find your safe harbour, your rock, your foundation, your shelter from the storms. Kirtan brings us joy and we find happiness sharing it with everyone we meet!
Ashraya play every week at The Mantra Room Burleigh and at special kirtan events and festivals around Australia & internationally.
Yadu & Friends
Yadu & Friends from Kirtan Experience are a super relaxed kirtan band who play at The Mantra Room every Wednesday night. Expect a mix of soaring kirtan tunes and soothing mellow chants, all complimented by Yadu's signature smooth vocals
