Our Meditation Classes

Following ancient tradition, ASMY offers all meditation courses and classes for free or by donation because we feel that everyone should have the opportunity to receive the gift of meditation and experience the amazing benefits that meditation has to offer.

We have meditation courses for those who want to learn to practice at home and 'Deep Peace' fully guided sessions that will transport you to a place of pure relaxation of mind, body and heart.

Deep Peace Relaxation

In this 45 minute session all you have to do is to lie down, get comfortable and we’ll do the rest, guiding you through a variety of breathing, meditation and relaxation techniques that will transport your to a place of pure relaxation of mind, body and heart.

kirtan

Kirtan - Sacred Chanting Meditation

Kirtan, also a form of meditation is the singing of ancient Vedic mantras, spiritually uplifting songs, prayers and the Sacred Names of the Supreme. Rather than being a type of performance, Kirtan is a journey of self discovery.

This ancient yogic practice was traditionally accompanied with Indian instruments. In the hands and voices of contemporary practitioners, Kirtan has been transported beautifully to all cultural and musical styles without losing its genuine spiritual authenticity.

When
Kirtan is held at West End 7 nights a week. Sessions are by donation, everyone is welcome and there is no need to book. Includes chai and sweets.

Timetable

My yoga journey began 22 years ago when I happened to stumble upon a free meditation class by the Australian School of Meditation and Yoga at Burleigh Heads.  I was under a lot of stress at the time and the meditation gave me such relief, I was hooked from that very first class and continued on with my daily meditation practice for many years before taking up yoga asanas. It made my life physically easier, and combining that with the mental, emotional and spiritual benefits that meditation had brought me, I had found perfect combination to living a healthy, balanced life.
