The secret to these mouth-watering vegetarian BBQ yuba ribs is the BBQ sauce that you use. There are some tasty sauces from the health food store that contain all natural ingredients and come in a variety of exotic flavours.
Ingredients
- 200g dried bean curd sticks
- ½ cup nutritional yeast
- ½ cup peanut butter
- 2 tablespoons miso
- 2 tablespoons warm melted butter
- 2 teaspoons paprika
- Water
- 2 cups vegetarian barbeque sauce
Method
Soak the dried bean curd 4-6 hours or overnight in hot water.
Drain and cut sticks into 8-12 cm lengths.
Squeeze out excess water and drain.
Preheat oven to 180°C.
Oil a cookie tray.
In a large mixing bowl, mix next 6 ingredients together to form a smooth paste.
Toss Yuba sticks in and mix until all sticks are evenly coated.
Lay side by side one layer thick, on the cookie tray. Bake 25 mins or until the bottoms are brown and crisp.
Remove from oven and put in mixing bowl with barbeque sauce.
Toss well.
Lay out on baking tray again and bake at 180°C for 10-15 mins.
Serves 5-6
