In winter we love to eat warming baked food. So while you are baking your potatoes and pumpkins pop some tofu in the over too and you’ve got a great meal. If you’ve ever tried to eat tofu without adding some sort of flavouring you will wonder why people ever bother, but add a sauce and you’ve got a nice addition to a meal. This recipe coats the tofu in tasty peanut butter sauce which soaks into the tofu as you bake it and makes a flavoursome dish.
Ingredients
1 block firm tofu
1 heaped Tablespoon grated ginger
2 cloves garlic (optional)
1/2 cup smooth peanut butter
Juice of 1/2 lemon
1 Tablespoon soy sauce
1 Tablespoon sweet chilli sauce
Water to mix
Method
Slice the tofu into steaks and lay on paper towels to dry
Blend the other ingredients together(you may need to add a little water to the mixture so it will blend) and coat the tofu steaks
Lay in a greased tray and bake at 280 degrees C for 30 minutes.
