6 Tips for Mentally and Emotionally Surviving COVID-19

So many people must be feeling the brunt of the virus in their lives. We may be out of work, restricted from going places, scared of getting sick, bored (or what’s worse have bored kids), our normal routine may have gone out the window and we are left without our normal social interactions. If we end up going into total lock down all these will be magnified and chances are our mental and emotional health will suffer. We may experience depression, anger, frustration desperate loneliness.  Mental health is a huge issue. Now is the time to be proactive and set ourselves on a stable path of mental and emotional survival.

  1. Keep active. We all know that exercise is important for our physical health but studies also show that exercise cheers us up and keeps the brain active. Daily we are adding more asana content to our YouTube and Facebook pages.
  2. If you need to isolate, plan a daily routine and set goals to achieve each day. This will help prevent the idle moments filling with food and endless screen time.
  3. If you have lots of spare time add a new learning experience to your life. What hobby have you always wanted to try?
  4. Be inspired! Watch some of our amazingly insightful wisdom talks.
  5. Join or create a group chat with your friends or even with people you don’t yet know.
  6. And above all spend time going inwards with meditation. This will help you find the satisfaction, peace and happiness that is lacking externally. Meditation is a wonderful journey of unlocking that treasure of love for the Supreme, love for others and respect for the environment. Take that journey by either quietly meditating with your beads, or along with one of our kirtans or deep peace sessions. Plenty of time for asanas, meditation and discovering inner peace.

Change, restrictions and isolation can be viewed two ways, they can be seen as great problems in our life , or they can be used positively to go within and find not only joy and contentment but also creativity and zest for living.

Our online yoga studio is now live to help support you in your practice during these times. Subscribe to our YouTube channel for daily yoga and meditation videos!

Stay safe, we are all in this together <3 and this too shall pass.
