The History of Kirtan – Yoga Wisdom Course

Thu 1st February, 2018 | 6:30 pm - 8:00 pm

In this four part course, I will be introducing you to the two great transcendental personalities who launched the glorious kirtan movement that is now sweeping the globe.

In India, just over 500 years ago, two great spiritual teachers Nityananda and Chaitanya freely spread kirtan or Yoga Sound meditation all over India and from there it has spread to every corner of the Earth. Together these transcendentalists have changed the lives of millions of people who have opened their hearts to Kirtan.

The course will include inspiring stories of their lives that will give you a real sense of who these wonderful transcendentalists are.  The teachings of Nityananda and Chaitanya are simple, yet as deep and profound as a great ocean.  When we begin to swim in this great ocean, it brings us contentment and releases us from all our worldly anxieties.

Glory to the Sri Krishna Sankirtana, which cleanses the heart of all the dust accumulated for years and extinguishes the fire of conditional life, of repeated birth and death. This sankirtana movement is the prime benediction for humanity at large because it spreads the rays of the benediction moon. It is the life of all transcendental knowledge. It increases the ocean of transcendental bliss, and it enables us to fully taste the nectar for which we are always anxious.
Siksastakam, Verse 1 by Sri Chaitanya

Let the teachings of Nityananda and Chaitanya guide us in the art of Yoga Sound meditation – and show us how to find peace and harmony not only within ourselves but with others and the world itself. I hope you can join us for this fun, informative course and I’m sure that you will find it deeply relevant in your own life!
