learn guitar kirtans free meditation asmy gold coast australia community mindfulness music lessons singing fun creativity happiness spirituality

Love kirtan (chanting) meditation? Want to be able to do it at home on your own, with your loved ones or friends? Or if you’re a yoga asana or meditation teacher, in your classes? There are just so many ways to add and incorporate the joys of kirtan into our lives, and share it with others!

These monthly kirtans will be a chilled, relaxed and non-judgemental environment to come along and learn/practice guitar for chanting. Some basic theory will be given, but please note these are not music lessons. These kirtans are for people who would like to learn guitar for chanting. Chords and strumming rhythms will be taught, and then it’s time to sing and practice along with the chant altogether!

Ukulele and djembe drum may be added in the future, once we see how we go with learning guitar monthly.

You will need to have your own guitar and tuner. If you do not have a guitar already, it is best to learn on a nylon string guitar. Assistance can be given for buying, stringing and tuning guitars. If you absolutely can’t secure your own guitar, but would like to attend, please contact me.

Run by Amara Cauci from the Australian School of Meditation and Yoga. Feel free to contact me anytime on amara@asmy.org.au or 0423 672 207.
