Often described as “meditation of the heart”, kirtan is the hearing and singing/chanting of mantras or transcendental sounds. Weaving together melody, music and mantra, kirtan is an interactive experience which is simultaneously meditative and joyful.
Kirtan is yoga’s most essential and valuable treasure because it nourishes a person’s deepest needs; inner peace, spiritual happiness, freedom from fear and heartfelt connection with the Supreme Soul and others in spiritual love.
