In this workshop you’ll learn how to practice yoga asanas safely and with the right alignment so that you can get much more out of your practice.
How you do a pose does matter. Contrary to popular belief it is possible to do lasting damage to the body if asana are not practiced safely and correctly.
Alignment is not just about making the pose look as though it could be posted on Instagram, it’s about getting the maximum benefit out of the yoga asana practice that is right for your body. In my experience of all aspects of life – not just on the yoga mat – it’s just as easy to build a good habit as it is to establish a bad one.
During this class it’s back to basics.
We will work on some of the most commonly practiced and taught yoga poses such as Triangle (Trikonasana), the Warrior poses (Virabadrasana), Tree (Vikrasana) breaking them down and building them up again paying attention to what every part of the body is doing and how these relationships work to make sure that the body is working efficiently and safely for maximum benefit and minimum risk of injury.
