A great time to reflect and forgive…
Christmas is a great opportunity to reflect upon how we’ve handled challenges that have come up this year, and there may have been plenty. Even when challenged, are we moving towards becoming more caring, kind, loving and forgiving? Or are we so busy just dealing with our responsibilities that it’s “business as usual” and we haven’t made time for deep reflection, which is needed help us move forward spiritually toward a more peaceful and harmonious life?
Christmas is a perfect time to forgive those who have caused us pain in our heart. Forgiving others is crucial if we want to be happy, to be free and released from the burden we carry of holding on to resentment and animosity towards someone else. Sometimes it is obvious that we are not forgiving someone and sometimes it’s not so obvious, we just feel a niggle inside letting us know something is wrong.
Doing some inner reflection can help us uncover blocks that are interfering with our spiritual growth and inner happiness. We can never be truly happy without experiencing forgiving others. This is taught by the great and wise spiritual teacher, Jesus Christ. Spiritual truths such as “forgive others as we want to be forgiven,” are not about “religion.” They are to help each one of us, no matter what our beliefs are. Being willing to forgive others is crucial for our physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual wellbeing. Then we can be free and start 2023 fresh with a peaceful heart.
