With an Indian heritage, I spent my early childhood living with my family in Kolkata (Calcutta), India. As I grew up, I felt the need to travel throughout India for a deeper understanding of this magnificent sub-continent. I travelled to the dry, parched lands of Rajasthan, the sandy coastal landscapes of Goa, the tea plantations scattered on the rolling green hills of Darjeeling…and everything in between. This adventure would mark the beginning of my journey into yoga and to inspire compassion in others for all sentient beings.
It was during my 350 hour teacher training (under the expert guidance of Vrndavan dasi and also Jayasri dasi), that I began to truly understand what it meant to unite the mind, body and spirit. This holistic approach to yoga has allowed me to share the beautiful sounds of Kirtan and mantra meditation as part of my class practice. I love the meditative effects of Vinyasa and cultivating awareness of inner silence through Yin Yoga. Please come and say hello if you see me at the beautiful West End studio.
