Now its your turn. Lets make this a reality!
Brisbane Yoga Day Festival 2018
United Nations International Yoga Day June 24 2018
The United Nations declared the first international yoga day on June 21 2015. In 2018 this annual event continues with a wave of yoga festivals across Australia (starting on Saturday June 16th, through to Sunday June 24th) as we celebrate the fourth International Day of Yoga to raise worldwide awareness of the many benefits of yoga. Yoga is an ancient, holistic approach to health and wellbeing that promotes harmony between individuals, their community, their natural environment and the wider world.
The asanas of yoga can increase your flexibility, strengthen and tone muscles, balance hormones, cleanse and flush the internal systems of your body, calm your mind and reduce stress.
But yoga is not solely about exercise. Ancient yogis understood yoga as a complete lifestyle and world view that can help you to discover who you are as well as your relationship to the world and nature and as such can provide valuable insights into addressing environmental challenges and promoting peace in the individual,
peace in communities and peace in the world. The sages of India understood that the outer can change by changing the inner, that the nature of our consciousness therefore affects the nature of our environment.
Whether you are a seasoned yoga practitioner or are brand new to the practice, come along to Yoga Day Festival to experience the many gifts of yoga with friends, family and community. Stay updated on our facebook page.
