Yoga & Meditation For All

Our Mission

The Australian School of Meditation & Yoga (ASMY) is one of Australia's leading not for profit meditation and yoga schools. ASMY has been serving the Australian community for over 30 years.

The purpose of ASMY Community Care is to provide the benefits of a yoga lifestyle and meditation to the underserved, at-risk, and disadvantaged members of our community.

Our Programs

Toolkit For A Healthy Life

Our Toolkit for a Healthy Life program provides the knowledge, practical skills, and support for individuals to confidently begin their journey towards physical, mental and spiritual health and well-being. Each component of the program is designed to suit the needs of the group, with each of the three modules offering a key takeaway and actionable steps for making small, healthy changes.

The Toolkit for a Healthy Life program runs all year round, is simple, enjoyable, and hands on. We offer the program throughout Australia including to alcohol and drug rehabilitation centres, domestic violence shelters, local councils, aged care facilities, schools and more.

Wholistic Yoga

ASMY’s Wholistic Yoga classes incorporate simple and effective yoga postures, breathing techniques, and guided relaxation incorporating mindfulness. Meditation is included in each session, giving people a truly wholistic and nurturing yoga experience for the whole person.

Classes guide participants to deal with stress, develop resilience, move and get active, increase feelings of well being and positivity, and live a more conscious, healthy and balanced life. Classes can be adapted to suit a variety of settings and class participant needs, including aged care, schools and people of differing abilities.

Deep Peace Meditation

Our Deep PeaceTM classes offer a complete combination of breath work, relaxation, mindfulness and meditation techniques. These classes support participants with guided relaxation, simple yoga breathing and mindfulness techniques for muscle relaxation, calming the mind and nervous system, and meditation techniques to help people experience inner peace.

Deep PeaceTM classes are suitable for small or large groups and are generally 45 minute sessions but can be adapted according to participants’ needs.

Transform Your Life With Meditation

This practical, hands-on workshop gives people the tools they need to transform their life with meditation via simple and effective techniques that can be practiced anywhere, anytime.

The three-part program helps people create a short, powerful daily practice that will help them feel buoyant, refreshed and nourished so they can thrive throughout their day. As little as 15 minutes a day can have profound, transformational effects. The course is supported by meditation mentors who guide and support participants.

Songs For The Soul ~ Community Singing

In a time where social isolation and feelings of disconnection are on the rise, singing with others helps generate a greater sense of community and belonging and is particularly effective in bonding large groups of people. And singing is not just for the select few! ASMY Community Singing groups are now harnessing the healing and harmonising benefits of music and song in a supportive way that is open to everyone.

The teachings of yoga have always used sacred sound or "mantra" in meditation practice to bring about increased inner peace, happiness, deeper connection, and spiritual well-being. The traditional practice of Kirtan, singing of sacred sound, is a joyful, inclusive form of community singing that incorporates music, melody and easy to learn Sanskrit mantras. It can be adapted to suit a variety of community settings and needs.

Meditation & The Art of Dying Fearlessly

Deep Peace Meditation can bring comfort, serenity and strength to those who are leaving this world. Meditation has been practiced for thousands of years for achieving inner peace. Meditation not only helps a person come to terms with death, but allows them to experience the deepest levels of peace, comfort and fearlessness.
