Sage Tea

 

Wonderfully soothing for sore throats, sage tea is also useful for hoarseness, laryngitis and relieving the symptoms of the common cold. Sage and lemon have antiseptic properties, cayenne is warming and cleansing while honey is soothing and also antiseptic.

Ingredients

  • 1 sage teabag or 5 fresh sage leaves
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • Pinch cayenne pepper
  • 1 teaspoon honey
  • 1 cup boiling water

Method

Pour boiling water over the sage leaves or tea bag and steep for 3-5 minutes.

Remove the sage leaves and add lemon juice, honey and a pinch of cayenne pepper.
